Recap: September 2016

October is here! This means soup and applesauce and yummy sweets and seasonal tea. It also means a jaunt into as much horror/dark fantasy as I can fit into my reading time this month. BRING IT.

But! Before I get to all of that, let’s look over what September brought…

SF/F Read Alongs

Still going strong! This month we’re returning to the world of Jacqueline Carey’s Terre d’Ange novels with Kushiel’s Mercy (Imriel #3), and continuing the journey through Seanan McGuire’s October Daye series with Ashes of Honour (October Daye #6). In September, though, we got through all this goodness:

One Salt Sea, by Seanan McGuire (October Daye #5)

The Cloud Roads, by Martha Wells (Raksura #1)

The Temeraire Tweetalong

Still reading my weekly way through this series, and God, it just keeps getting better (and by better I mean more heartbreaking). September was all about Empire of Ivory, and the first Tweetalong for Victory of Eagles is in the bag! First review for that will follow soon.

Necrotech (SINless #1) by K.C. Alexander

Tremontaine: ‘Convocation’ (S2 E1) by Ellen Kushner

The Life and Times of Angel Evans by Meredith Debonnaire

Guest Post: “Land of Changes” by S.C. Flynn

Spotlight & Excerpt: The Puppet Master by Abigail Osborne

Up For Discussion

I plan to make much better use of this category going forward, by writing posts that aren’t just of the review variety. In September I started with a little Tremontaine love, in the name of the awesomely fun #TremonTEAM challenges from Serial Box Publishing…
